OUR MISSION

Point Balance The Center is a facility for families and individuals in Northeastern Pennsylvania to learn, play, and socialize in a healthy, welcoming environment.

ABOUT POINT BALANCE THE CENTER

Target Population

Point Balance The Center was specifically designed to support those who have a history of personal struggle, as well as their families, friends, coworkers, and neighbors who seek a wholesome gathering place for socialization, recreation, and education.

Center Description

Founded by Roy Gilgallon, Point Balance The Center is a community resource for everyone in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Open seven days a week, Point Balance The Center is a non-profit, community-based facility that will provide supervised activities and meeting spaces, including:

  • Indoor recreational amenities, including a billiards table, ping pong table, dart board, chess set, board games, and television
  • Outdoor recreational amenities, including a labyrinth, pond, horseshoes, cornhole, basketball & volleyball courts, pickleball, fire pit, and patio
  • Meeting space for the general public, social/fraternal organizations, and personal and/or professional development and training.

STATEMENT OF NEED

According to OpenData PA:

Nearly 24,000 people in Lackawanna, Luzerne, and surrounding counties experience substance use disorder, and thousands more are currently in recovery. Getting and staying sober is a priority for these individuals, their families, their friends, their employers, and their communities.


Point Balance The Center provides a recovery-friendly space for individuals and families to gather, socialize, enjoy leisure time, and learn. Point Balance The Center will collaborate with area non-profits to deliver meaningful activities and transformational programming.
